HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Superhero Spotlight-Milewski

When you ask the members of CrossFit MKT why they keep coming back day in and day out, the most common response is “the people!” We appreciate each and every member that make MKT such a special place to get fit, blow off some steam, and have fun.


This week, in the spotlight, please welcome, Scott and Allison Milewski! Milewski has been a house hold name since January of 2019. We reached out to them to ask them random questions about themselves; some serious and some fun. Here is what we learned about them:

1) What made you get involved in CrossFit?

Allison: Initially I wanted to become a faster runner and gain some strength….now I prefer CrossFit over running! 

Scott: I sit at a desk all day and needed to get physically active to help relieve lower back pain, and after seeing the physical and emotional results my wife had after a year of CrossFit, decided that it was time to check it out.   

2) What is one goal you have for the year?

Allison: I really want to be able to do a pull up!!! And then get toes to bar! 

Scott: To keep improving and not get hurt!! 

3) What’s your favorite Crossfit movement?

Allison: My favorite movement is the power clean

Scott: My favorite movement would have to be the back squat

4) What is the best gift someone could give you today?

Allison: probably to get rid of this damn coronavirus! 

Scott: Life’s wisdom

5) If you had an extra hour of free time every day, how would you use it?

Allison: Playing World of Warcraft like the secret nerd I am! 

Scott: I would like to learn  to play the acoustic guitar…. ie: How to distract my wife from playing World of Warcraft! 

6) What is your favorite workout music?

Allison: Hard rock all the way!

Scott: Cardio by Spotify 

7) What is your favorite book, and why?

Allison: I have a ton of favorites but lately it is The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom. I randomly picked it up and couldn’t put it down. Neither can anyone else I’ve loaned it to! I can’t really say why, it’s just a really good read! 

Scott: Stop Walking on Eggshells by Paul T. Mason which really helped liberate me from a really dysfunctional previous relationship.

8) What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Allison: But it Needs A Home! 

Scott: It Gets Better

9) What superpower would you want to possess?

Allison: I was going to say “to read minds” but I probably don’t really want to know what people are thinking so I will say flying! 

Scott: I’m gonna go with invisibility because I can’t figure out how to beat Superman’s powers.

10) What was the most important lesson you’ve had to learn?

Allison: I have to put me first 

Scott: It’s not about me

11) What is your favorite family tradition? 

Scott & Allison:  Thursday night “date night” at Flatbranch and Andys.  Also, extended family dinners when everyone can get together at the same time.
